An Interjection Song
At times you feel emotion so straightforwardly. Hallelujah!
Sometimes you need a single word to set you free. Hallelujah!
A word that’s set apart but can express your heart all by itself.
An interjection it may be. Hallelujah!
To separate it from the rest of the sentence,
A comma or an exclamation point makes sense.
Ahem, congrats, yippee! Oops, boo, alas, phooey!
Whee! Gee!
An interjection’s independent speech.
CHORUS 1:
Interjection is perfection, quick expression of the way that you feel.
Interjection is expression, quick connection with the way that you feel.
Interjection, it’s how you feel
Interjection, it’s no big spiel
Whoa! Yo! Ha! Yeah! Whoa! Oh my! Eureka! Hello
Sometimes an interjection means two things, two ways
When altered by inflections of the word you say.
This puppy loves me so. Awww!
Dad, can we have one? No. Awww!
A single word that means two things today.
Let interjections fly! SSSHHHHH!!! Hi!
Interjection is perfection, quick expression
Of the way that you feel.
Interjection is expression, quick connection
With the way that you feel.
Whoa! Yo! Oh! Bravo! Whoa! Yo! Oh! Bravo! CODA: Hey! Say! Yay! Hooray! Yeah! Blah! Nah! Waa! Ooh! Wahoo! Boo-hoo! Yoo-hoo! Hello Goodbye Uh-oh! Oh my!
Use interjections Yeah!
Hallelujah!
